I love helping future fiancés-to-be plan their surprise proposals in Kennebunkport, Maine. And I love being a part of the surprise itself when I photograph them. Whenever I photograph them, I usually am able to blend into the scenery so as not to spoil the surprise, but I’ve never had to put on my stealth mode so far like this one! This time, I got to be extra sneaky and play the role of sailing crew on a sailboat! I got the t-shirt and everything. Ryan and I put together a plan that I would pretend to be part of the crew on the Pineapple Ketch, a lovely charter sail boat that docks at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, Maine. I would pretend to go along with the one-hour cruise until it was time for him to sneak into the cabin and get the ring, and then I would pull out my camera. Well, it worked, and everything went off without a hitch! Alex said yes! It was the perfect weather, warm with a gentle sea breeze, which just added to the magic of the moment. I couldn’t have wished for better. And these two rocked out a little photos session after the big moment and some wine, and they did an amazing job! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed my “office” for the afternoon yesterday capturing this special moment for Ryan and Alex!
