I just love my clients. Maybe there's something in the water, but I tend to attract couples who are the absolute sweetest people, and usually animal lovers. Kate and Matt are no exception to that. Both are warm and kind dog-parents who are fiercely loyal to their tribe, welcoming to visitors, and have a zest for life many would envy. And their sweetest fur baby is a purring (yes, she purrs!) black lab named Bailey who means the world to them, and who actually is the reason they met in the first place! If you know me, you know that I love a good story, and their meet-cute is one for the books. But more on that later. Fast forward to their stunning October wedding in gorgeous Boothbay Harbor: It was a day all photographers and filmmakers dream of - a gently overcast sky, mild temperatures, and that famous New England autumn foliage for days. Then pair that with the stunning rocky coastline lined with pines and foliage sure to make a Bob Ross painting faint with envy. It was heavenly. Kate began her preparations in this setting at the lovely Spruce Point Inn Resort & Spa, in their Pemaquid Hall. Soon after, the sweetest ceremony was held down the road (literally about 5 minutes drive) at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

The all-white building stood bright against the oranges, golds and greens of the land, representing a quintessential Maine autumn scene like the one in your mom's "to-do" calendar. You know the one I'm talking about - the one next to the fridge. There was the most adorable surprise ring bearer in attendance, and the couple and their guests sung "My Girl" as they made their way back down the aisle once all was said and done. After some group and family portraits in front of the church steps, the gang all made their way down to the dock across the street for a nautical pre-party aboard the "Miss Boothbay" and made their way down the harbor. The fabulous cocktail hour was held for guests back at the Spruce Point Inn, with mouth-watering appetizers and delicious drinks all served in-house. The crew docked at Spruce Point Inn's private dock, and after a few pictures made their way back to join their guests for the rest of the cocktail hour and surprised with an awesome a cappella serenade by their friends on the patio. Soon after cocktail hour the bridal party was announced in down the grand staircase of Pemaquid Hall, and Kate and Matt's elegant and romantic first dance took place on the large dance floor. You could tell how much hard work they had put into it as they glided across the floor with the greatest of poise and ease. Soon after came toasts from their loved ones, a prayer, and a delicious dinner in the spacious reception hall, followed by the parent dances (which made me cry like a baby when I sat down to edit the film, by the way), and more fun dancing with the guests.

Kate and Matt chose a nautical elegant theme for their wedding, and it was absolutely stunning. Everything from the cafe lights draped around the room, the jaw-dropping chandelier installation, the driftwood accents in the center pieces and accents, the beautiful seating chart tree and memorial table - it all fit together perfectly. Then of course the dresses, flowers and those shoes beg mention - holy cow. They put so much work and thought into this day, and it definitely paid off! And they absolutely deserved every fairy-tale minute of it. I am so grateful to have met these wonderful people, and humbled to have played such a role as to capture these precious moments for them.
