So many masterful vendors had pooled their vast resources and talents to put this together, and it was so awesome to see the extremely hard work and craft these folks do for each and every wedding, and the resulting stunning quality. I was all perfect for the venue's big debut.
I thought we had made it through the session without anything silly happening, and then suddenly that all changed.
Oh my goodness, I loved this wedding *swoon*!! Aside from all of the wonderful people I get to meet for my job (Danielle & Billy included, of course!), one of my favorite things about being a wedding videographer here in Maine is the places I get to see and visit. We found ourselves in the Boothbay Harbor area for the third week in the row this day, only this time, we started at the stunning St. Patrick's Church in New Castle, Maine (about a 30 minute drive from Boothbay).
I had such a blast with Ellie & Collin today running around Freeport, Maine. These cuties came all the way from Oklahoma for a trip home to celebrate with family, and I am so glad we were able to meet up. They were such troopers as we dashed from place to place, racing the sun and the cold in their classic Bean Boots and stylish pea coats.
It was a day all photographers and filmmakers dream of - a gently overcast sky, mild temperatures, and that famous New England autumn foliage for days. It was heavenly. Then pair that with the stunning rocky coastline lined with pines and foliage sure to make a Bob Ross painting faint with envy. It was perfect.
As we walked down the main path, I spotted a very small, unmarked path in the tree line as we started to look for areas with water. Being the daring adventurers we already were on this shoot, we decided to explore and see if there was anything worthwhile down that trail. And it did not disappoint.
I had mentioned previously that I hadn't had the opportunity to visit the Boothbay Harbor, Maine area yet, and Kyle and Emily's wedding was my chance. As my assistant and I took the trip, there were a lot of "ooo's and ahhh's" as the scenery came into view.
I knew this was going to be an awesome event based on the other professionals that were lined up to participate, and was blown away by the spectacular views in and surrounding the beautiful venue when I went for a visit before the event itself. Adjacent to the museum is a large function space, complete with deck perfect for cocktails and taking in the scenery.
I've never been to the Lovell, Maine area before, and I hadn't actually heard about it until Bernadette hired me to film her wedding there. WHY this is the case is a complete mystery to me. Driving up north for a wedding near the White Mountains always sends chills down my spine and reminds me of home as the range comes into view....it reminds me I AM home.
I can't believe it's already been two years - it has just FLOWN by! So, to celebrate our Maine-iversary, we are launching first annual holiday family photo sale today!
Oh my goodness, Jamie and Brian's wedding - this was such a fun day! And it started out (and finished) REALLY well.
Oh my gosh, today was an absolute hoot. If you don't know me by now, I'm all about stories and adventures. And boy we had some fun ones today! Everything from getting kicked out of a bar, to exploring mysterious forest trails and breathtaking views - you name it, we had it during our engagement session (more on that later)!
I was blown away by the colors and textures in these arrangements, and how fall doesn't just mean pumpkins and orange everything anymore. How modern and "Maine" these are, and how I could picture these in a dining room, or at a fall wedding as centerpieces.
As a photographer, I get to beautifully capture moments for people in their lives that they otherwise wouldn't be able to do themselves. Helping people make and preserve memories for their families to enjoy for generations to come is a huge responsibility, blessing and honor to me, and most of that for me comes in the form of weddings. But this time...
Holy cow, what a night! I got back from Emily & Kyle's wedding at Harborfields Cottages up in Boothbay Harbor, and I am just blown away. What a couple. What a location. What a celebration!
Ever since I filmed Kelly & Bryan's fabulous, rustic/elegant wedding there last summer, I have been itching to go back and film at the ever beautiful Barn at Hardy Farm in Fryeburg, Maine. So when I was hired to do Jillian and Dan's wedding video, I was ecstatic to say the least.
I got a text last night from Shamir worriedly asking if we could change the time for our appointment from 7:00pm to earlier in the day. He had been checking the weather in Portland Maine oh, about every 5 minutes, for the last week straight to make sure there would be no rain to ruin one of the biggest moments of his life.
So after a 4th of July event we attended this weekend, I was gifted a centerpiece. It smelled so good and was so beautiful, I couldn't wait to have it sitting on my dining room table, bringing light and joy to us as we dined.
I need to visit Portsmouth, NH more often. It's so very pretty all around, and the downtown there is not only very pedestrian-friendly (which I love), but it's also thriving. The little scene is jam-packed with hip, new restaurants, shopping, artisans, and even event venues. And my favorite little place to drop by and say "hi" when I'm in town is at Jardiniere Florist.
I was going through some of my shoots from last year, and came across this little shoot from last September. I was commissioned at the last minute as a second shooter for this wedding for the groom's preparations portion of the day, and let me tell you, it was a little crazy!
